Cherry nails...yes please!

New nail varnish on...and I am liking it a lot!

(with flash)

(without flash)

I don't own this polish but instead had it done in a nail bar. Its by OPI and called Charged up Cherry.

It's a perfect bright for summer shade that is a real mixture of red, pink and coral. Because it is such a hybrid it will go with anything and it has a creamy glossy finish which is really pretty!

The ring in the shot I also am lovin' right now. Its a chunky gold, cream and crystal number fashioned in the form of a bird...what more could you want! This little baby is from Primark and is a steal at just £2! Plus suprisingly it hasn't actually turned my finger green yet....result!!

Any nail polish recommendations? My next manicure will be in preparation for a holiday so more brights me thinks!!

Something not beauty but so beautiful!

I got a very early birthday pressie yesterday from my BF. And I am totally in love with it!!
Its a coffee machine! To be specific its a Lavazzaa A Modda Mio Extra (check it out here - http://www.lavazzamodomio.co.uk/en-uk/range-machine-espresso-coffee.htm)

It makes tonnes of different drinks using the capsule system and the coffee tastes great. The main reason I chose this particular brand over the rest of the swollen coffee machine market is because they are the only ones to offer a fair trade line of capsules so it was an easy choice.

Check out my new toy's tasty creations!......

Espresso made with the Divinamente capsule.....

A rather shaky attempt at a cappuccino using the steam foaming arm.....

Let me know your coffee tastes!....xoxo

levres de la jour!

A little post about a lovely little lip combination I've found in the depths of my stash....
Starts off with a swipe of my favourite lip balm ever.....Burts Bees lip balm with pomegranate oil...

Then a classic MAC lipstick in Angel. Said to be a fav of Kim K this is a classic pinky/nude. It has a frost finish so includes a slight sheen (pictured left above)....

Topped off with a gloss, my pick is ELF mineral lip gloss in Pageant Princess. A very fitting pinky/nude which feels lovely and smooth and is not sticky at all (pictured right above)...

A few pictures below to show the goodies...

Thanks for reading

My Birthday wish list....

These are some of the items that I am asking for for my birthday. All at the high end of the beauty world hence why I'm asking for them as gifts as my purse strings may well not stretch!!.....
1. Christian Dior Miss Dior Cherie Eau de Parfum
perhaps a bottle not quite as large as that below....;-)
2. Dior addict lipstick....these look really sheer and glossy and the one I have my eye on is #249 Diorissime (which is not the shade below, instead diorissime is a soft sheer coral shade)
3. YSL rouge volupte lipstick....beautiful packaging, endlessly recommended on loads of blogs and I would love to have one of these babies!! I think a good start would be #1 Nude Beige (again, not the shade pictured below)
4. Chanel Rouge Coco Shine hydrating sheer lipshine....yes, another sheer luxury lipstick....can you ever have too many?! This time I'm drawn to the shade Boy another soft nude pink.
5. Urban Decay Naked palette....can't believe I don't own this...really wish I did!....

Holiday Essentials.....

Just returned from a lovely break away in Portinatx, Ibiza. Portinatx, as you can see from the photo above, is part of the white isle which isn't the party scene area instead it was a very relaxing beach and pool side break to catch a few rays and chill out......
However it was also a great chance to try out some holiday beauty musts and I have found a few stand out products which I really relied upon on my break and all of which are from the drug store, which means not only do they perform brilliantly but their also at a great price!
So in no particular order here is my low down on the best holiday beauty buys.....
1.
Nivea sun protect SPF 30 lip balm
Could you get more simple?! Could you get more cheap?!
This little product packs a lot of positives......its easy to buy, its cheap, it has a no mess applicator (unlike Vaseline tins which require your finger to apply), it has a high SPF which is essential, its pretty much colourless (no cricketer look for me!) and to top it all off it left my lips feeling nourished and soft. And one more thing....again unlike vaseline this product didn't melt down in the heat at all, very important when its 35 degrees. So all in all.....thumbs up!
2.
Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance Leave in Conditioner avec a wide tooth comb
These two items became best friends with my hair over my week away. A quick spritz of the leave in conditioner and comb through and my hair felt good as new after each salty/chlorinated dip. They were in my beach bag every day and the strong smell (sweet and slightly floral) of the Aussie will forever remind me of my holiday!
3.
Garnier Ambre Solaire After Sun Hydrating tan maintainer
At £7/8 this is the a little expensive for an aftersun but certainly worth every penny. This product claims to help intensify and prolong a suntan, 2 things which I always want to happen, so straight in my basket at boots it went. I am an avid fan of dousing myself in aftersun every evening after a day out in the sun, not particulary because I burn, but more to keep my skin hydrated. Well this product is incredibly hydrating as it is packed with tonnes of vitamin E and Glycerol but it has an extra little secret....a very small touch of self tanner. And it's that hidden extra that helped to deepen my tan each day and made me feel much more confident about my skin. Would really recommend this for anyone who wants to look tanned but knows that they don't tan that quickly....
4.
And last but by no means least......
Garnier Ambre Solaire Clear Protect + Transparent body protection spray
Never ever ever will I go back to standard sun cream, it's far too greasy, effort to rub in and leaves you looking covered in white streaks!!!! This however is the perfect antidote to all that. Its a clear spray available in a variety of SPF levels (I went for 10 and 20) that requires no rubbing in and it very water resistant. One drawback, it does say it is unsuitable for the face, but I ignored that and had no problems so I think that's up to personal preference. It's a couple of pounds more than the cream by the same brand but well worth the extra investment and it seems to be stuck of buy one get one free in Boots so it works out at about £14 for 2 200ml bottles. All in all a great value holiday must have!!
And that's all from me......sorry if its been a little long, but i really believe each of these are well worth it! :-)

Welcome.....

As a very avid fan of beauty blogs I like nothing more than catching up on posts and investing some of my hard earned cash in new products recommended by bloggers. However having now spent some 3 years reading the insightful words of others i have decided to have a crack at blogging myself. Expect hauls, reviews and recommendations on a variety of health and beauty products.......Enjoy!!
